Aethelthryth sursaute toujours lorsqu'on tente de l'appeler par son prénom et commence à bougonner en rougissant. Petite et l'air constamment étonnée, elle a des cheveux noirs raides qu'elle ne dénatte jamais et de grands yeux bruns curieux, presque innocents. Pourtant elle a plutôt tendance à râler, quoiqu'elle soit généralement discrète sur ce point. Seules ses compagnes de dortoir peuvent en témoigner réellement, car elles ont pu avoir un petit échantillon de ces gros mots qu'elle garde pour elle-même mais dont elle use plus souvent qu'on penserait.
Elle est un peu distraite mais semble rechercher la compagnie, sans pour autant traîner avec n'importe qui. Lorsqu'elle est avec des amis elle fait attention et écoute, participe. Mais lorsqu'elle n'est pas accompagnée, avec sa taille et ses épaules rentrées, on finit par l'oublier.
Aethelthryth always jumps when people try to call her by her first name, and then starts grumbling and gets pink in the face. She is small and has a constantly startled look. Her hair is black and stiff and always done into braids, and she has big brown eyes full of curiosity, almost innocent. However she has a tendency to groan, although she generally keeps it low. Only the other girls in her dormitory can really testify for it, for they have had a sample of all the swear-words she generally keeps for herself, but which she uses more often than it looks.
She is a little inattentive but seems to want company, without going around with anybody she doesn't know. When she is with friends she pays attention and listens, participates. But when she is not with friends, with her height and her shoulders drawn forward, people get to forget her.
